Calling All Brightonian Pets

Pardon the pun, but Brighton Agency has gone to the dogs…literally! We’ve officially teamed up with the Animal Protective Association of Missouri (APA) and award-winning photographer Lynn Terry to create the “Pics of the Litter” campaign. Using professional photography, Pics of the Litter introduces St. Louisans to some of the APA’s longest-residing canine guests in hopes of finding families for Marco and Peanut and Hawkeye and Dotty and Baby Girl and…and, well, you get the picture.

Pics of the Litter is a way for Brightonians to put to work the agency’s in-house expertise in marketing, creative development, public relations, and social media for a cause we’re personally passionate about: pets. Nearly 70 percent of Brightonians are proud pet owners and the Brighton family boasts more than 30 canine companions (and countless other critters). In fact, all but one of our pet owners currently owns or has owned a shelter pet (we’re working on the lone holdout to adopt Ox or Bruno).

If research is correct, we’re a happier, healthier family because of our furry friends—you can be happier and healthier too by adopting a member of the Pics of the Litter gang. Studies in cardiac care, psychology, and immunology report:

  • Pet owners live longer, have fewer signs of heart disease, enjoy higher self-esteem and are more extroverted than non-pet owners.
  • Pet ownership can decrease your blood pressure, cholesterol, and triglyceride levels and reduce feelings of loneliness.
  • Pets can increase how much you exercise, participate in outdoor activities, and socialize with others.
  • Patients with Alzheimer’s experience less anxiety when sharing their homes with animals.
  • Children raised in homes with “furred animals” have a reduced risk of allergies and asthma.

The Brighton family embraces the old proverb that proclaims, “A good dog deserves a good home.” We encourage you to visit Pics of the Litter and ask yourself, “Doesn’t my good home deserve a dog?”

Don’t miss the chance to meet our canine companions on the Brighton Facebook page! You won’t be able to resist these faces.

Two of the best friends I’ve ever known were Hank, a brown and white mixed-breed cattle dog, and Tag, a tri-colored, blue merle Australian Sheperd, who also was a cattle dog. They gave me true love all the time.
