Just Another Social Media Infographic? Well, Sort Of…

While thousands of new infographics pop up daily, this morning I came across what I thought was just another social media infographic. Don’t get me wrong, most infographics seem to have great facts and figures, but this one was a little different.
10 intriguing facts and figures about social media, an infographic on PR Daily, contained one fact in particular that I don’t usually see – “Facebook has the greatest IMPACT on purchase behavior at 47%.” This stat is key, especially to those in online marketing and social media. While every brand and every social media account has their own facts, figures and reports of what works and what doesn’t, Facebook never really seemed to be a high generator of purchasing intent. It’s interesting to read this has all changed, all particularly within the last year – which is great for marketers. With Facebook rolling out ‘Want’ buttons, it’ll be interesting to see this platform go from social networking, to social buying.
